The Democratic Alliance is confident it will get an outright majority in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro in the upcoming municipal elections. Party leader John Steenhuisen, campaigning door-to-door, urged residents to vote in their numbers for what he says is the only party that can bring ethical and good governance to the metro. In 2016, the DA wrestled power from the ANC, with 46,7% of the vote.
