]]>SOUTH AFRICAN – By supporting the adoption of the Phala Phala report, four African National Congress (ANC) Members of Parliament (MPs) rebelled against the organization.
In an open vote at the National Assembly on Tuesday afternoon, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma shocked the other MPs by being the first to break ranks.
“As a disciplined member of the ANC, I vote, yes,” she said.
The Section 89 panel report, which stated that President Cyril Ramaphosa may have infringed the Constitution and anti-corruption provisions, was the subject of a contentious debate in the parliament.
To begin an impeachment procedure against the president, opposition parties need support from a majority of the ANC members.
Lindiwe Sisulu left the meeting while Mervyn Dirks, Mosebenzi Zwane, and Supra Mahumapelo voted in favor of the report.
After Thandi Mahambehlala of the ANC switched her vote from yes to no, there was discussion regarding the rules.
She claimed that she voted “yes” to follow party line since she misunderstood and did so.

]]>Joburg – According to EFF leader Julius Malema, Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy Gwede Mantashe defends President Cyril Ramaphosa for his own self-serving interests, especially given his association with Bosasa, which has come to light during the state capture inquiry.
He promised that his party would see to it that he was put behind bars and that the EFF would write to the NPA to request that Mantashe be charged.
He claimed that given that Mantashe has not denied his affiliation with Bosasa, he does not understand why he has not yet been placed under arrest.
Malema also compared Zweli Mkhize, a candidate for the ANC presidency, to Mantashe, claiming that there wasn’t enough concrete evidence to implicate Mkhize.
Malema asserted that he was certain Ramaphosa would be replaced and that Deputy President David Mabuza would deliver the Christmas message from the president.

]]>Since the ANC no longer supports him politically, President Cyril Ramaphosa is “extremely likely” to retire from office in the coming hours.
Additionally, Ramaphosa will step down from his position as ANC president and withdraw from the contest to be re-elected at Nasrec in less than two weeks.
Deputy President David Mabuza, a former premier of Mpumalanga, will serve as acting president in accordance with the Constitution until Parliament elects a new leader.
At a special session of Parliament at the end of the month, whoever is chosen to be the new ANC president in mid-December, will be sworn in as state president.
The DA has submitted a resolution calling for the dissolution of Parliament and the holding of an early election in 2019.
Ramaphosa did not need to be persuaded of the need to quit, according to a person close to the negotiations. According to the insider, Ramaphosa claimed that his resignation would be best for the stability of the nation.
The source said, “At this point, there is nothing we can do.”
